Then and Now

1995 the first Starplayer was built in the basement of an appartment house in the south city of Hannover. Being founded by Dieter Gölsdorf as a one-man-business, the company today has around 30 employees. Several relocations were made and we're still growing. Modern manufacturing techniques like the newest technology in CNC milling machine or the Plek fret dressing machine result in Duesenberg being a synonym around the world for best quality and workmanship

Innovation

Hidden behind the pretty facade there are numerous technical innovations, which are sometimes only discovered at second sight. The Z-Tuners allow easy and comfortable restringing. The tilt of the pickups can be adjusted by a third screw in the pickup ring, so that the surface of the pickup can be aligned with the strings. And last but not least the Duesenberg Deluxe Tremola, which is one of the best systems available on the market today.

Single coil sound withound hum - generations of engineers tried in vain to solve this problem. We did it - with our PH90 SingleTwin pickup. And another detail that musicians all over the world love is the straightforward usability of the Duesenberg instruments. It is the simple but unique pickup wiring - easy to use but offering a wide range of sounds.

There are still countless ideas and concepts in Dieter Gölsdorf's drawer that are waiting to be made.

Johnny Depp Serija gitara

Following up on last years highly anticipated Johnny Depp 52 instruments limited signature series, comes an unlimited production model featuring an alternate top plate layout, tremolo and reduced tattoo decals.

The guitar shows an alternate set and arrangement of tattoos on the top plate and comes without some details of the limited signature series like the feather trussrod cover, the tattoo decals on the back and the gift goodies.

Just as last years model, the Johnny Depp Series guitar has a set of Johnny’s personal tattoos etched into the aluminium top plate. The instrument features a custom designed JD-63 tapped single coil pickup of which you can cut off 1963 turns of the coil to give it just that destinct snap – and it’s also Johnny’s year of birth. It’s further equipped with the short version of our own Diamond Deluxe Tremola.

Pierre Debeauford, main technician for the Rolling Stones for many years already constructed an ingenious system which sucks away the smoke from two on stage ashtrays so that Keith and Ronnie can each smoke their pack of cigarettes per show – and one has to admit that this is kind of ‘Stones cool’.
